Privacy Notice
This notice describes how Sleep Estimator handles calculator calculations, device storage, hosting requests, and support messages.
Site operator and contact
Sleep Estimator is an independent web application created by Youssef.A. For inquiries concerning this notice, email us at support@sleepestimator.app.
The public creator name Youssef.A is displayed for attribution. Prior to commercial advertising launch or formal regulatory filings, the site owner should review whether applicable regional regulations require publishing a verified full legal name and physical postal address in this section.
1. Local calculator processing
All sleep planning calculations execute exclusively inside your web browser. When you select a wake time, adjust your sleep goal, set fall-asleep minutes, or preview staying up later, those values remain entirely in your device memory.
Your schedule inputs are never sent to a server, database, or analytics platform.
2. Optional device storage (localStorage)
Sleep Estimator does not save your settings by default.
If you explicitly check "Remember my settings on this device" in the Personalize menu, the application saves your selected sleep goal, fall-asleep buffer, wind down minutes, and clock format (12h or 24h) to your browser local storage under the key sleep_estimator_user_settings_v1.
How to remove saved settings: You can uncheck the "Remember my settings on this device" box at any time, or click "Reset defaults". This immediately removes the active storage key as well as any legacy keys from earlier versions. You can also clear local storage or browsing data in your browser settings at any time.
3. Hosting and technical server logs
Sleep Estimator is hosted on a Contabo Virtual Private Server (VPS) managed through Coolify.
When you load pages on this website, the hosting infrastructure and web server automatically process standard technical request data. This includes your IP address, browser type and operating system (User-Agent), the requested page URL, the date and time of the request, and the HTTP response code.
These logs are maintained for technical operation, DDoS mitigation, network security, and server performance monitoring. They are not combined with calculator inputs or used for behavioral profiling.
4. Contact email messages
If you contact us at support@sleepestimator.app, your message is routed through Cloudflare email forwarding to the site owner.
We receive your email address, message subject, and any information you provide in your message. We use this information solely to respond to your technical question, feedback, or bug report.
Please do not include sensitive medical or personal health information in your correspondence.
5. Cookies and active third-party scripts
Sleep Estimator does not currently use cookies. No session cookies, analytics cookies, or advertising cookies are set by this website.
There are no third-party tracking scripts, analytics beacons, or Google advertising scripts currently loaded on the website. External links to the CDC, NHLBI, and LinkedIn open in standard browser tabs with referrer protection and do not run third-party code on our site.
6. Planned advertising (Future changes)
An application for Google AdSense is planned to support website operations. Advertisements are not currently active on this site.
If and when Google AdSense is approved and implemented in the future:
- Google and its certified third-party vendors may use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites on the internet.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- Users will be able to opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings (or through www.aboutads.info).
- Before serving applicable Google ads to visitors in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, a Google-certified Consent Management Platform (CMP) will be configured and deployed through Google AdSense Privacy and messaging to gather required user consent.
This privacy notice will be updated immediately upon the activation of any advertising tags or consent management systems.
